SAM Prime was launched by David Ledbury after the demise of the SAM Newsdisk which David edited with Alan Miles.
It was intended to be in a similar vein to the Newsdisk, and managed to gain content from several Newsdisk authors - including Adrian Parker and Dr Andy Wright. One of the intentions was to work with Bruce Gordon who’s company SAMTek was still trading, to keep support going. This sadly did not happen.
SAM Prime was a disk based magazine for the first 5 issues, although the last 2 issues appeared on Paper.
- Issue 7 of the magazine was DTP’d by Simon Cooke and David Ledbury.
- A companion disk to come with later issues, designed by Steven Pick later became the basis of Blitz Magazine for Persona
