SAM featured in Retro Fusion magazine

Sam

Issue 1 of Retro Fusion, a brand new magazine which should now be available in branches of GameStation, features a 4 page article covering the history of the Sam as well as the history of Quazar, written by Colin Pigott.

Is it worth buying?

Is issue 1 worth buying for the SAM article, or is it simply an extended advert for Quazar? No GameStation where I live, so I’d have to buy on-line and therefore no browsing option beforehand. :(

What SAM software is covered in the article?

The article I’ve written

The article I’ve written for the first issue of Retro Fusion is in two distinct halves. The first half looks at the history of the Sam Coupé itself, the ups and downs etc. It’s a concise view of the Sam, ideal reading for the general reader who may not have heard of it before and covers from it’s development onwards.

The second half is ‘my’ history, when I got a Sam, what I started off doing, initial developing and starting Quazar, right up to today and what I’ve got in the pipeline. In this first RF article, I haven’t delved in deeply with every nitty gritty detail or in depth to any particular thing i’ve worked on - that’s best left for now in Sam Revival magazine which deals only with the Sam!

(There are other facts and that in boxed off sections, tech specs, screenshots of some Sam games, emulation on the Sam etc.)

For £3.00 there is plenty of other stuff in the Retro Fusion magazine, as it covers consoles, computers and nostalgia. It’s a good read, and good to see another ‘retro’ magazine on the shelves.

Colin.

Who's SIAC?

Who’s SIAC is on the picture?

Who's SIAC?

The photo of a SIAC used in the RF article was the fifth one I had done last summer, as mentioned in Sam Revival 13.

I’m in the process of building up two more at the moment, there’ll be a bit about them in the next Sam Revival out later this month. It’s non-stop with stuff at the moment at Quazar HQ!

It’s a commercially

It’s a commercially printed magazine, mentioning SAM. Of course it’s worth buying…! For the price of this - you can’t even buy a pint of beer - or a pack of ciggies! :)

Oopps...

Oops.. wrong thread… delete!

SAM in a Mag!

Hell, a four page article on SAM in a new major magazine? I’m just waiting for my copy to arrive! :-D (on a separate note… with my 3 games being included on FRED and Revival, should I enter them in the Products pages? Or do they not count?)

I’d say make a Product

I’d say make a Product Page and them make each game a Child node, that way they don’t fill up the index but they are all uploaded and searchable.
