SAM Amateur Programming and Electronics

Disk

Shane Smith

1992

Disk magazine, containing technical articles about digital electronics and low-level assembly programming.

Ran for 8 issues (over 9

Ran for 8 issues (over 9 months — issue 8 was a month late), with only 12 subscribers. Of the £2 per disk, 70p went on the cost of the actual disk itself.

Created by a 20 year old college student (with a small bit of help from two others) in an effort to foster a “self help” mentality in the Sam community. Hence the low price.

Issue 1 was sent (free) for review to Dr Andy Wright, who blasted it, describing it as “yet another Sam disczine”.
