Spectrum Next

A new hardware spectrum emulator, that does all that we wished the SAM did at the time, and more.

People much smarter than me will say whether it could cope with SAM stuff, but froma quick glance at the specs I see no reason why not.

This article says that it will have a SAM Coupe compatibility mode.

Potentially quite exciting, that.

West coast computers sam coupe

Apologies if im on the wrong link.
I’ve found my brothers old sam coupe elite 512 computer in parents loft.
And was wandering if its worth selling or keeping.
It says west coast computers on the bottom left of the keyword and top right says elite 512.
Also found its box which says mgt on it.
Ive managed to power it on and logo screen comes on.But ive not done anything else , just powered it on.
Is it worth anything .
Any info or help would be great.thanks

From: Stephen McGreal

Hi Karel,

Thanks for your interest in IMPostors! - I wasn’t able to release the disk images for several years because of copyright issues, which is why you might find disk images of some of my other games but not that one. But those issues have been sorted out now, so here are the disk images. As with most of the old SAM Coupe stuff it’s basically freeware now, so feel free share it with anyone you think might be interested.

Cheers,
Stephen McGreal

This was a puzzle/platformer in the Lemmings vein. You controlled 5 imps, each with a unique skill. IMPostors! sold well enough for me to begin working on a sequel, but the sequel was abandoned.

Re: SAM Coupe Days of Sorcery

I understand your site is acting as an archive of software but needs permission to publish disk files.

If you have Days of Sorcery on a disk or disk image, then please take this email as permission to publish the disk image to your site, and if you would be able to provide it to me either by email or http/ftp etc, that would be fantastic.

SD card for SAM that doesnt need disk access?

Hi. Does anyone know if there is an SD card reader/Mass storage for SAM which does not need a working floppy drive as I was told by Colin Piggot that the one he supples - the Trinity needs to access a working flooppy drive. I have a SAM with a floppy which isnt working but just wanted to use an SD reader like the DivIDEs you can but for the Spectrum which clearly dont require floppy access.

Can anyone help?
