Submitted by Dan Dooré on Sat, 2006-05-06 07:49.Haha Fame at last - Well not fame exactly ;-) Nice to see this stuff up here.
I also designed and built the Samplifier sold by BG Services, designed and never released the following, Sam-trio backplane, Sam-VTXer an interface for the vtx5000 spectrum modem, an IDE interface (Bruce Gordon didnt like the idea!! so I stopped) A Z180 accelerator, and other stuff I can’t even remember.
Also tested Pro-DOS a lot in it’s development (some of it was polished off at my place in Poole when Chris Pile stayed for a week).
Occasionally still in contact with Chris Pile.

The Sam Coupé Adventure Club (SCAC) run by Dave Whitmore (Technical Editor) and Phil Glover (Main editorial, reviews, articles, and artwork).
Other contributions were from Gareth Pitchford (Main reviews & other contributions), David Munden (various contributions & Sam Adventure System column) and Nigel Kettlewell (various contributions).
From Dave Whitmore’s Sam Adventure Club Homepage:
In the summer of 1991 Phil Glover contacted me after reading a letter that had been published in SAM Supplement. Phil described himself at the time as a ‘keen adventurer’, whereas if I’d been asked I would have probably said that I was an ‘adventure hacker’.
Before the SAM Coupé came along my ex wife Sue had got heavily into text adventures on the ZX Spectrum; picking up various titles from computer fairs, or buying direct from places like Zenobi Software. I wasn’t so much interested myself, but I allowed myself to be persuaded to buy a Plus D floppy disk drive interface and a 3.5 inch DSDD drive from an advertiser in the Speccy mags - MGT. At around the same time, Simon Goodwin broke the news about MGTs upcoming new super 8-bit machine SAM in the ZX Crash magazine
