SAM Revival issue 20 out now...
Submitted by Quazar on Sun, 2008-02-17 10:40. NewsIssue 20 of Sam Revival magazine is now out from Quazar. (Click here for pricing and to order…)
Sam Revival is a printed colour and b/w magazine with an accompanying cover disk of software and aims to be packed full of Sam Coupé news, interesting features, articles and interviews, catering for everything Sam related. The first issue launched in August 2002, and the magazine is now read by Sam users in 17 countries, including of course the UK and most European countries.
Inside the issue you’ll find all the regulars covering all the latest news in the SAM Coupe world, and there is the welcomed return of the letters pages. Feature articles include information on using the EEPROM that’s onboard the Trinity Ethernet Interface, with source code provided on the cover disk too. The developer diary looks at the work undertaken by Simon Owen on writing an Ethernet Driver for the Trinity and the start of his work on porting CPC/IP to give the SAM it’s first suite of internet enabled programs.
The issue also features three full games on the coverdisk, there is Booty and Invaders - two of Jupiter Software’s past commercial releases, and the third game is a SAM version of the The Light Corridor - originally writen 17 years ago by the Spanish programmers who did the MSX and ZX Spectrum versions, but the SAM publishing deal fell through so it was never released.
This issue of Sam Revival costs £3.99 for the UK, or £4.79 for EU including Airmail postage. You can also subscribe for six issues at a discounted price of £21.98 (UK) or £26.98 (EU). More information at the Quazar website at www.samcoupe.com
Vertex Software - Copyrights Granted
Submitted by Dan Dooré on Sat, 2007-11-24 21:05. GrantedDear SAM Fans…
I am very pleased to announce that I now consider the following of my work for the SAM Coupé to be regarded as Public Domain;
Review Disk Magazine (Issues 1 - 5)
MegaDisk #1 (Quix, Quix II, Math!, Le Box & Manic Mazes)
…under the condition that each disk be distributed in its original, unedited format. At the time of release in 1991, the rights to my MegaDisk #1 were signed over to SAMco, but since this company and all of its subsidiaries no longer exist, I now consider my contract with them to be null and void.
I am more than happy for my work for the SAM Coupé to be distributed freely, without charge. I would appreciate being informed when any of my software is distributed.
Many thanks, and enjoy!

SamForth Copyright
Submitted by Dan Dooré on Sat, 2007-11-24 20:08. GrantedMany years ago I wrote a program called SamForth.
As the copyright holder I can now confirm that it is FREEWARE.
I have lost the original source disks, but the program still exists, I believe, on a SAM Supplement CD.
If anyone wants to backwards engineer it for any reason, please feel free to do so.
